Sunway University Business School (SUBS) – Students Helping Hands
Sunway University Philanthropy Office, in collaboration with SUBS, introduced the Students Helping Hands initiative which aims to provide essential and appropriate financial assistance to deserving students currently enrolled in Sunway University.
With the core value of “by Students for Students”, the team hopes to create a valuable and positive impact on students in need of financial assistance. The initiative also serves as a platform for students to help, connect and create awareness among the Sunway community and its alumni on the importance of giving back to the community and society.
Dr Elizabeth Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Education Group encouraged all to donate to the fund so that more students can benefit from the initiative. “There is no minimum or maximum amount, give genuinely and cheerfully, from your heart. Sunway Education Group (SEG) COVID-19 Student Support
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected everyone more so students who are away from home. Standing united, Sunwayians came together to help those in need. The SEG Covid-19 Student Support Fund was set up by the Philanthropy Office to provide social support and assistance to Sunway University and Sunway College students. The Fund is an additional avenue aside departmental-level and various other student support services provided on campus.
Funds were utilised to support students away from home around Bandar Sunway and Subang Jaya area, especially those who required assistance and support due to the MCO. To date, 59 students received food packages (consisting rice, eggs, canned food, instant noodles and others) from the Fund.
We would like to take this opportunity to appeal to those who wish to be a part of this initiative. Any helping hand, such as donations even as low as RM10 or support in any other form will make a difference to those in need.
